Nancy Shotola is a pottery artist who has been working in clay for over 40 years at the Harvard University Ceramics Program. She enjoys throwing functional pieces in high fire porcelain. Her glazing process focuses on the interaction of overlapping glazes and patterns created using a wax resist technique. While her pieces are exquisite, they are made to be used. This piece is a beautiful blue with a white leaf like pattern inside and out. The diameter is 9 1/2 inches and is 4 inches high. For more about her work . . .
